In Memoriam - Allen Brown former Physics teacher at La Grande Boissière

The Alumni Office is saddened to share the news of the passing of Allen Brown on 28 April 2026. Allen was a Physics teacher at La Grande Boissière from 1979 until 1984. His daughter, Rebecca who was born in Geneva, said that her parents considered those years in Switzerland as the best in their lives.

Allen Norman Brown March 13, 1951- April 28, 2026

"It is with deep sadness that we announce that Allen passed away peacefully, though too soon,
with his loving family by his side at Smiths Falls Hospital at the age of 75. Beloved father of Melissa and Rebecca, cherished grandfather to Minnie, lifelong friend to and mother of his children Lynda.

A natural lifelong teacher and student. Curious, creative, adventurous, full of love for his family, physics, astronomy, folk tales and music, and the natural world. He instilled a passion for learning about the world around us into many a willing student. He taught with a flair for fun, and childlike amazement and giddiness were the result in most lessons. This loss is great."
