Find out more about me:
I live in Tel Aviv, Israel, where I have lived for almost 17 years. In 2015 I chose to quit my comfortable job and start "Political is Personal", an initiative of in-depth interviews conducted with Israeli Jewish and Palestinian women in connection to the political situation. More than 100 women have been interviewed so far, but in addition to interviewing, I conduct lectures about the project, as well as about my life in Israel, Israeli society and, believe it or not, my life as a third-culture kid (!)
It’s difficult to choose a favourite Ecolint memory because there are many, but if I had to choose, I would probably say the musical performances that I took part in as well as the deep and meaningful friendships that I made during my time there.
Ecolint contributed to making me feel like I was capable of anything and that I was worthy of dreaming big, on a global scale.
I really can’t think of any “regrets” when it comes to my experience at Ecolint, but perhaps I would tell my younger self to tone down on the intensive self-discipline that I had with regard to exams, assignments, and homework. I probably should have taken things a little easier and allowed myself to relax more.
My words of wisdom for Ecolint students: when you go out into the “real world,” because, let’s face it, Ecolint is perfect but it’s sadly not the real world, occasionally remind yourself of the immense privilege it is to have been a student at Ecolint, and although you often may be confronted by values that are far from what you were taught at Ecolint, such as racism and narrowmindedness, be audacious and true to yourself. Life is (indeed) too short.
