South Pole Plastics Practice

Blog

After twelve years living across Canada, Peru, and Taiwan, I decided to move back to Europe and settle in Amsterdam. I am a passionate environmentalist and have dedicated my career to tackling plastic pollution. In Peru, I founded Life Out Of Plastic (L.O.O.P.), a social enterprise that raises awareness about how plastic pollution disrupts marine ecosystems. Currently, I am Senior Managing Consultant in the plastics practice at South Pole, a provider of climate solutions for private, public and nonprofit organisations.

Hard to choose one favourite Ecolint memory! Field trip memories top the list. I have particularly fond memories of our field trips to the South of France. Mr. Giroux always had fun anecdotes and detailed explanations of the physical geography in the area.

Ecolint shaped my worldview and instilled within me a commitment to give back to the community. Growing up in a multicultural environment helped me to easily adapt to different situations. Both the commitment to social purpose and international diversity pushed me to live beyond my comfort zone.

I wouldn’t change a thing about my experience at Ecolint!

My words of wisdom for Ecolint students: Break out of the Ecolint bubble. The Ecolint world is an extremely privileged one and we are often unaware of the communities that surround us. Reflect on the privilege you have as an Ecolint student and think about how you can use that privilege to give back to the community.
