Celebrating creativity: Alumna’s contribution to the new campus hub
The construction of La Châtaigneraie new campus hub, launched in the summer of 2025, marks an important milestone in the school’s development. Designed to enhance learning, creativity, and student life, the project reflects the school’s commitment to a modern and inspiring educational environment. We are especially proud that this initiative has brought together students, staff, and alumni in a shared effort to shape the future of the campus.
Among the many contributions to this project, we are particularly proud to highlight the work of a recent alumna Tamara Muller (CHA, 2025) who created a detailed scale model of the future campus hub, allowing us to admire the building well before the walls are up!
During her final year at La Châtaigneraie, students were invited to participate in discussions around the interior design of the new building. Although her graduation limited her ability to take part in the group, the school proposed that she create a physical model of the future campus hub, an idea she embraced with great enthusiasm.
The finished model measures approximately 60 × 100 cm and is constructed almost entirely from paper, with the exception of the vegetation, which was carefully created using dried plants and moss. The final version took two to three weeks to complete, following several weeks of experimentation with materials and trial constructions to identify the most effective techniques.
As with any construction project, miniature or not…there were challenges along the way. Some early versions struggled to support their own weight, certain architectural plans were missing measurements, and paper proved to be less forgiving than concrete. This project was only her second architectural model and her first built entirely from paper, making it both a technical and creative challenge. Through this experience, she developed a deeper understanding of materials, scale, and architectural thinking, gaining valuable insight into her future studies in design.
We are extremely proud to see our alumni contribute their skills and creativity to meaningful school projects. The model is currently on display at the secondary reception, offering students, staff, and visitors a tangible and inspiring glimpse into the future of the campus. We warmly thank her for her involvement and dedication to the school.
About the Campus Hub

The new Campus Hub will serve as a central space for learning, collaboration, and community life at la Châtaigneraie.
The project includes multifunctional and flexible areas for studying and group work, a new cafeteria accommodating up to 450 students at once, modern sports facilities replacing the outdated Vaud sports hall, designed to enhance the learning environment. Together, these features reflect the school’s vision for a campus that supports academic excellence, creativity, and student well-being.
