Get ready for an exclusive sneak peek into history! As we eagerly anticipate the release of Educating for Peace: 100 Years of Ecolint, we’re thrilled to share some of the captivating photographs that will bring this remarkable story to life. This beautifully curated book celebrates a century of innovation, inspiration, and impact at Ecolint, and it’s set to be published in Autumn 2025.

The students’ activities on Ecolint’s inaugural day, the 17th September 1924, partly revolved around a pregnant rabbit, innocently brought to the school as a pet by one of the eight children present. The rapid reproduction of rabbits is notorious: by 1930, an entire shack was devoted to them in La Grande Boissière, where they were lovingly looked after by Middle School students, in a scene that evokes a pastoral engraving from the 18th century. What exactly the rabbits’ ultimate destiny was remains unclear, but given the popularity of a filet de lapin or cuisse de lapin in the local gastronomy at the time, one may fear the worst.
