Business and Administration at Babson College
USA
Where are you studying now, and what course have you chosen and why?
I’m a student in Business and Administration at Babson College. The course is built around a set of required classes like accounting, business analytics, and business law, alongside a big focus on entrepreneurship, where we actually learn to launch a business in our first year. I chose this path because I wanted to keep a wide range of options open for my future, and Babson really emphasised something that resonated with me: success isn’t just about what you know, it’s about the people you meet and the connections you build.
What’s a highlight of your university experience so far academically or socially?
The cross country season with the varsity team has definitely been a highlight. Competing in huge meets with hundreds of athletes from different colleges is completely different from anything I experienced in Geneva. Some races have around 500 runners, and the level is insane, you’re constantly fighting in a pack. It really made me realise the difference in density and competitiveness between the US and what I was used to in Switzerland.
What are you hoping to achieve during your time at university?
For me, the main goal of university is to meet people who inspire me and to make the most out of these four years at Babson. I don’t think classes are the most important part of my time in Boston, they shouldn’t block social opportunities or chances to discover new things. I want to explore, take risks, and fully live the experience. At the end of the day, I just want to leave Babson with no regrets.
What advice would you give to students at Ecolint who will soon be heading off to university? Jump into it with both feet. Do as much as you can, join clubs, try different societies, put yourself in new environments. Don’t hesitate to do things you wouldn’t usually do. Your first year is about experimenting, meeting people, and figuring out who you are.
Have any experiences or lessons from Ecolint helped you settle in or succeed at uni?
I think Ecolint, especially through the last two years of IB, gives you a real maturity advantage coming into university. Things like CAS, managing your time, and disciplining yourself for final exams prepare you more than you realise. There’s almost something hard to explain, but you notice it when you meet other Ecolint alumni, they’re composed, relaxed, and adaptable. It’s not the case for everyone, and you really feel the difference.
