Learn more about me :
I currently live in London with my partner. My steady income comes from working in a Further Education college, supporting refugees and asylum seekers with their English. I also teach dyslexic students. I am also an actor, which I juggle alongside my teaching. Last year I was in a new web-series called Flatshare, playing the role of a gay man who has just left an abusive relationship. I am also a writer, having written a stage play that was on at the Southwark Playhouse in London, and I am currently in the process of finishing my first feature film, which producers have shown interest in.
My favourite Ecolint memory is a geography trip to Morocco. It was such an amazing experience, getting to sleep in the desert, exploring the high Atlas Mountains and really experiencing the beauty of the country. I will never forget it. Ecolint prepared me for the trials and tribulations of life. I graduated feeling like a well-rounded individual, thanks to the IB's rigorous curriculum, which gave me the tools to succeed and persevere.
I really enjoyed my time at Ecolint, but if I were to do it again I would probably have applied myself more to my work. And I would have also brought LGBTQ+ issues to the forefront, as I felt that during my time at Ecolint there was not really an open discussion about it, and it almost felt wrong to be gay.
My words of wisdom for Ecolint students: please remember how fortunate you are to have parents that can afford such an education! Have gratitude for your parents and teachers; they all want you to succeed, even if you feel like they don't care. Working with refugees who have come here risking their lives, and arriving here with absolutely nothing but are eager to learn and grow, really put that into perspective for me.
